Things to Do

Welcome Visitors and WSET Students!  Majek Vineyard & Winery is open Wed, Sat-Sun 12-6 and Thurs-Fri 12-8, for wine tastings, lunch and dinner.  The Winery is conveniently located 8 miles S of I-10 at Schulenburg, TX, ~1 hour from Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Victoria. 

In this part of TX, there are several tiny towns, only about 8 miles apart, each with its own charming personality.  I hope you are able to visit Majek and other businesses in our area.   We look forward to sharing our slice of Texas with you!

A sample weekend would include a stay at one of the outstanding nearby BnBs, such as, The Roost, The Sinclair, The Gathering at Mulberry Creek, Das Meyer Haus, Moore Avenue Cottage, The Yellow Rose (search Schulenburg, TX) or for a single hotel room, choose the Historic Olle Hotel in Flatonia or Hotel Texan in Hallettsville.

For dining choices, choose Majek Vineyard & Winery from 12-6 Wed, Sat-Sun and Thurs-Fri 12-8!  We also recommend Red Vault Bistro and Darlin's Diner in Flatonia, Sengelmann Hall, Tillie's Cafe, and Joe's Sports Bar in Schulenburg, and Kloesel's Steakhouse in Moulton.

Many of our guests take part in a Painted Churches tour while in the area.  Lots of antique shops and museums, too!
